ok.

as of 24 hours of this post, this board and website will cease operation.

The Jersey Open is also cancelled. There is no local support and i don't

have the personal financial support to float it.

Sorry about that, and i hope it doesn't inconvenience too many people.

I have run this board and site at sometimes great personal and financial

expense and basically, I've had enough. I don't need all the insults and personal attacks.

This forum will be locked as soon as this post goes out.

This decision is FINAL, sorry.

Time for someone else to pick up the ball.

UPDATE:

I'd just like to thank everyone who's phoned, sent emails or text message in

support of the site.

Nothing has been deleted, nothing will be.

Even I'm not so stupid as to delete years of practical, helpful and often

insightful help and advice that has come from its many contributors.

I feel more the guys at the worlds.

I guess they found out what was happening, and i apologise for causing

hassle whilst they are out there trying to fly the flag's for their respective

nations.

Like I've said, It seems people want this site to continue.

If it does, it won't be an open door anymore for levelling insults at people.

That is FINAL and i won't budge an inch on that.

People like that will be gone, they just aren't welcome.

I"m never going to expect a system where everyone agree's, hell, its

the impossible. Good healthy debate is one thing, slagging off, defamatory

statements and personal attacks ??, not here, not any more.

If you had people knock on your door, you invited them in, and they stood

there abusing your welcome, how long would any of YOU put up with that.

Anyway, I'm going to speak to some of the guys I most respect in the game over the next few days.

I've already spoken to many, but some are away.

Hang i there whilst i get this sorted out one way or another.

ok, it has come to light, that apparently there was a problem I caused

during last years Jersey Open where i tried to "create a distance".

I don't remember the exact details, but here you go.

I remember asking a distance to be logged, i don't recall what it was, but

Tom Ozanne was quick to point out that my current cast hadn't gone that far.

It hadn't, that was true.

It was from cast i had previously made, been distracted by i think it was ( getting the hot food over to the field, i don't really remember) it was something.

Anyway, so as to NOT cause any conflict, i WITHDREW the distance immediately.

I was in no way trying to cheat or create a distance. Organising these events often leads to distraction.

If i recall, i explained that at the time, and there was no problem then.

anyway, that's it, there you all know.

Perhaps it was taken as cheating, I don't know.

Perhaps, I shouldn't have tried to cast and run things.

At the end of the day, anyone that had a problem (which until now i didn't know existed) they could have asked me instead of throwing out public insults.

On a lighter note, the requests to keep the board going are overwhelming.

I'm trying to answer all of them.

The guys away ( England A ) managed Silver. TJ called me this morning with the news. He seemed quite sober too which is worrying.

All this started with a thread about the UKSF head rope length.

I asked a simple question and it was taken wrongly.

If that offended UKSF, it was NOT intended in any way.

However, IF our courts aren't accurate, we should address the problem, or

change the wording in the rules (easier and cheaper) to make the header rope at 200MTR's 100MTR's wide. That is all i was getting at.

Sometimes people read too much into simple questions, and others read

too much into stuff like i explained above.

I have NEVER cheated, would NEVER knowingly cheat or would tolerate it myself.

I don't NEED to cheat, I enjoy casting, i enjoy, or rather enjoyed, running this site.

This may not be the end, but there will be changes.

However, in the case of the above, I will NOT explain in any more detail, because, there isn't ANY more detail. Its 12 months old, why bring it up now ?

I don't expect anyone to answer to that last question btw, I'm done with it.

Confirmado, no se cierra el foro, pone normas mas rigidas y cambia algo del formato de la presentacion del foro.

Pondra nuevos moderadores y procurara que el foro salga a delante.

Me alegro.

Saludos

we are now ONLINE under new rules.

Mark, Jeremy and I will be able to move, not randomly delete any

controversial thread or post into a moderators forum where WE (the moderators), not ME, the admin will discuss its relevance and positive

or negative impact on the sport we all care about and love.

I'm going to try to invite a couple more moderators from various parts so

as things are kept within the "global community".

For now, I've fixed the "homepage" and the pages are accessible via the TCN

link at the top of the forum page.

This page will be altered though to become more multi media /database

friendly.

TJ, as always will have total control over his fine "who's who" and galleries.

To access those and the video's, use the link to the TCN homepage and navigate from there.

Certain people for now have been sidelined until I or other moderators

have spoken to them. They are not forever banned, I'm not that petty.

What I would like, and i hope what you want, is a return to casting discussion.

Everyone has something to say, we are never always going to agree but

one man's medicine is another's poison.

So, try to help each other out, but remember more than one opinion is

often actually a good thing.

I'm quite prepared to get the site back where it belongs if you all are.

That's all I can say really.

Sorry for any inconvenience over the last few days.
